WHAT ARE THE PARTICIPANT-LED CLASSES LIKE?  WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENINGS?

Many of our Stringalong Weekend participants have been following music, dance and creative art forms for decades, and have interesting talents to share, such as how to play an instrument: guitar, autoharp, fiddle, tin whistle, banjo, dulcimer, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica. Some participants lead song swaps, harmony or rounds singing. Other classes may include cooking (2 small kitchens), storytelling, ecology, painting or drawing or crafts, songwriting, folklore, etc. If you have a skill or talent, please share it with us! Friday evening Welcome includes a potluck supper (all other weekend meals are provided in Main Camp), introductions and a shared singalong/playalong, plus jamming by the fire till the wee hours. Saturday eve includes an (optional) Open Mic and more jamming.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED, OR WHAT CLASSES TO TEACH?

Some participants use a Stringalong online site to discuss options ahead of time (info on how to sign up will be available in your receipt letter when you register): You can see what classes are being discussed, ask for classes you would like, find out what to bring. Ask a question, or for a ride, or to rent/borrow an instrument. As you arrive on Friday, participants will list classes they are willing to offer on a bulletin board, with pre-assigned times and room locations. People attend whatever they like, or jam in the Runge lounge.
